Canteen & Kitchen Appliances

The shop is located at 50A and B on Madhu Roy Lane, right off Beadon Street in Kolkata. If you know the area, you know the lanes are narrow and always crowded with people and carts. We spend our days at Canteen & Kitchen Appliances surrounded by stacks of metal pots, heavy iron stoves, and all sorts of things meant for big kitchens. It’s a bit of a messy place because we have so much stock piled up in the corners. We get a lot of people who run local eateries coming in to find a specific part for a burner or a bigger pot for their rice. Sometimes it gets really hot and humid inside, but that’s just the weather here. We aren't trying to be a fancy showroom with bright lights and glass cases. Most of what we do is moving boxes and showing people how the knobs work on the industrial stoves. We’ve been at this address for a long time now. People know they can come here and find what they need without a lot of fuss. There is usually a bit of dust on the shelves because the street is so busy outside. We just stay busy helping whoever walks in with their kitchen problems. It is a lot of heavy lifting and talking to people about things like steel gauge and gas connections. It’s just how we spend our time on Madhu Roy Lane.
