Burp Restaurant

You can find Burp Restaurant up on the 5th floor of the Forum on Elgin Road. Being in a place like Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani means we see all sorts of people coming through. It's usually pretty loud with the shoppers and people catching movies, but we like the energy. We started this because we wanted a place where you could just sit down and eat without a whole lot of fuss. The 700020 area is always moving, and sometimes it feels like we’re right in the middle of a beehive. Our staff is mostly local kids who are working while they study or just trying to get by. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just the kitchen and the tables and us trying to keep the orders moving. The elevator sometimes takes forever, so we appreciate it when people actually make the trip up to see us. We’ve had some long days here, especially on weekends when the mall is packed. It’s not always perfect, and sometimes we run out of chairs, but we make it work. We’ve been at this address for a bit now and we’ve gotten to know the other shop owners around the floor. It’s a decent living and we like the people who come in. We just focus on getting the food out hot and making sure the floor is swept for the next day.
