Biriyani House

We are located on Dum Dum Road, right in the heart of the Dum Dum area. If you live around here, you know how busy this road gets at all hours. We’ve been here for a while now, and the shop has become a part of the daily landscape for people walking to the station or heading home from work. The smell of the rice and spices usually drifts out onto the sidewalk, which sometimes brings people in even if they weren't planning to stop. It’s a simple setup. We have the big pots out front, and we serve people as they come. It’s not a place for a long, fancy dinner. It’s a place where you get your food, maybe sit for a few minutes if there's space, or take it home in a packet. We don't have any corporate mission statements posted on the walls. We just focus on getting the balance of the spices right every single day. Some days are better than others, and sometimes we run out of food earlier than expected if the crowd is big. The staff is just a few of us who have been doing this for years. We know the regulars and how they like their portions. It’s a bit loud with the horns honking outside and the fans whirring inside, but that’s just the way it is on Dum Dum Road. We just keep the fire going and the plates moving for everyone who walks in.
