Vivek Homely Food

Vivek Homely Food is over in Kousalya Nagar which is part of the Elamakkara area in Cochin. We started this because we know people around here often want something that tastes like what they make in their own kitchens. It is not a big fancy restaurant with menus in leather folders. We mostly focus on the daily meals that people eat in Ernakulam. The kitchen gets busy early in the morning when we start prepping the vegetables and getting the rice ready. You can find us easily enough in Elamakkara if you are looking for a place that feels a bit more like a home than a business. We use whatever ingredients are fresh at the market that day so sometimes things change a little. The tables are simple and we keep the place as clean as we can while juggling the lunch rush. It is a lot of hard work and we are often tired by the end of the day but it feels good to see people finishing their plates. We do not have a big staff, just a few of us making sure the food gets out to the tables while it is still hot. People from the offices nearby and some of the neighbors come in regularly. It is just a straightforward food spot where the focus is on the cooking and nothing else. We like being part of the Kousalya Nagar neighborhood and serving the people who live around here.
