Shree Dakshin

We are based inside the Gateway Inn on Civil Lane Road in Edapally. Our location is right in the heart of Ernakulam 682024, specifically in the Alinchuvadu-padivattom area. We mostly serve the guests staying at the inn, but we get plenty of locals from Edapally coming in too. We focus on South Indian food because that’s what we know best. The kitchen starts early in the morning with the smell of fresh coffee and the sound of the idli steamer. It’s a comfortable enough place, not too loud, which is a nice change from the busy Civil Lane Road right outside. We have a few staff members who have been with us for a while, and we just go about our work every day. We don't have a big menu with hundreds of items, just the things we can make well and consistently. The afternoon lunch crowd can be a bit of a rush, but we usually manage to keep everyone fed. Being in Ernakulam, we see people from all over, and it’s interesting to hear their stories while they eat. We aren't part of a big chain or anything, just a local restaurant trying to provide a decent meal to anyone who stops by. It’s a quiet life for the most part, just making sure the sambar is hot and the floors are clean for the next customer.
