Food Magic The Family Restaurant

Our place, Food Magic The Family Restaurant, is right at the YMCA Junction in Ernakulam. It’s a very busy part of town near Ernakulam College and Shenoys Junction. There is always a lot of noise from the street, but you get used to it after a few days of working here. We have families coming in mostly, especially in the evenings when things cool down a bit. The building isn't brand new, so there’s always something that needs a bit of fixing, like a wobbly chair or a light bulb that keeps flickering. We do the repairs ourselves most of the time to save some money. Running a restaurant in Ernakulam is quite a challenge because there are so many other places nearby. We just try to stay focused on what we are doing in our own kitchen. My nephew helps me run the floor and he’s good with the customers. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything. We just hope that if the food is okay, people will tell their friends. Sometimes the kitchen gets really hot and we all have to take turns stepping outside for some air. It’s a simple life, honestly. We open up, we cook, we serve, and then we clean everything up for the next day. It is hard work but it’s what we know how to do.
