Kutchi Bhojnalay

Our place, Kutchi Bhojnalay, is located inside the Shyamaprasad Mukarji Shopping Centre on Nagar Palika Road in Mandvi. Being in a shopping center means there is always something going on around us. People are constantly coming and going, carrying bags and looking for things. We are one of the spots where they stop to take a break and eat. It is a very straightforward setup. We have long tables and the food is served in a way that is quick and filling. In Mandvi, it gets quite hot, so we try to keep the place as cool as we can for the people coming in from the dusty road. We make the kind of food you would expect from this region. It is the stuff we grew up eating ourselves. We don't go in for fancy plating or anything like that. It is just good, honest portions on a plate. The staff here is mostly family or people who have lived in Mandvi their whole lives. We know the rhythm of the town and when the big rushes are going to happen. Nagar Palika Road can be a mess sometimes with traffic, but we are used to it by now. We just focus on getting the cooking done and making sure there is enough for everyone who shows up. It is not a glamorous job, but it is what we do and we are okay with that.
