Aashapura Lodge

We are located in Poonam Chambers along the Bhuj Anjar Highway in Kukma. It is a busy stretch of road, mostly used by heavy trucks and people traveling across Kutch. Our lodge is situated below the Poonam Hotel, so we are a bit lower down from the main level. Living and working in the 370105 area means you get used to the desert climate and the constant wind. The lodge is not fancy at all. We have basic rooms with the essentials for someone who just needs a place to sleep for the night. Most of our guests are people passing through on business or truck drivers who need a break from the long highway. We spend our mornings changing sheets and cleaning the rooms. The building is a simple concrete structure, and we do not spend much on flashy signs or decorations. We just keep the place quiet and clean. Sometimes we sit outside near the highway and watch the traffic go by when there is a lull in work. It can get lonely out here in Kukma, but there is always something that needs fixing or cleaning. We do not have a big staff, just a couple of us who look after everything. We are not trying to be a luxury resort. We are just a lodge on the side of a highway where travelers can stop. That is the reality of our day-to-day life here.
