Anpurna Dining Hall

Our dining hall is on Main Bazar Road in Naliya. It’s right near the spot where the old Dena Bank used to be. Naliya can get very hot and dusty because of the Kutch climate, so we try to keep the inside as cool as possible with some big fans. The dining hall is basically one big room with long tables and benches. It’s a simple, honest place. We serve traditional meals to anyone who walks in. In this part of Kutch, the weather changes a lot, and so does what people want to eat. We see many traders who come to the bazar for work. They are always in a hurry to get back to their shops. We don’t have any fancy tablecloths or decorations. We just use clean mats on the tables. My family has been in this town for many generations now. We know all the other shopkeepers nearby. We don't have a big kitchen team. Just a couple of people who have been working with us for many years. We make rotlas and kadhi every day. It’s the kind of food we eat at our own home. Sometimes the water supply is a bit slow so we have to store it in big plastic drums in the back. We don't have any bright neon lights. Just basic bulbs. It feels like eating at a neighbor’s house. We don't really advertise anywhere. If you walk down the bazar, you’ll find us easily.
