Bansidhar Dyning Hall

You can find us on the Bhuj Anjar Road right in the Madhapar area. Being on the highway means we see a lot of different people every day. Most of them are truck drivers or travelers who are heading towards Anjar or coming into Bhuj. Our dining hall is built for speed because people on the road don't usually have hours to sit around. We serve a traditional Gujarati thali that is simple and filling. The kitchen is always preparing big batches of dal and vegetables so we can refill plates quickly. It is a dusty road outside and the wind blows a lot of sand around so we spend a good amount of time cleaning the floors and tables. The building is a bit plain but it stays relatively cool inside compared to the sun out on the highway. We have a few long tables where people sit together. It is not the kind of place where you look for privacy. We have local boys working here who know how to serve the food fast. The noise of the trucks passing by is something we have gotten used to over the years. We open early for those who start their journey before dawn and we stay open until the dinner crowd thins out. It is just a practical stopping point for anyone driving through Madhapar. No fancy lights or music, just hot food and a place to sit.
