Jantaghar Restaurant

Jantaghar Restaurant is located way out in Lakhpat, which is in the Kutch district. We are right near Lake Lakhpat, a very quiet and still part of the world. Our postcode is 370630. Out here, life moves a lot slower than in the big cities. The restaurant is a simple building that fits in with the landscape. We don't get the huge crowds you might see in Bhuj, but we have our regular visitors and people who are exploring the lake area. The wind can get quite strong around here, so we are always making sure the doors and windows are secure. Inside, it’s just a plain dining area with wooden chairs and tables. We don't have a menu that changes every week or any fancy chefs. It’s just us cooking the food we know how to make. Most of our ingredients come from the local markets when they are available. We spend a lot of time sitting by the front door when things are quiet, waiting for the next traveler to stop by. It’s a family-run kind of place where everyone chips in with the cleaning and the cooking. We don't do any advertising or anything corporate. We are just here by the lake, doing our thing every day.
