The highway is always loud with big trucks and cars passing by at all hours, but inside the gates, it stays mostly quiet enough for the students to hear what the teachers are saying. We have been at this spot for a good bit now. Being a senior secondary school means we deal with the older kids who are starting to worry a lot about their final exams and what they will do for work later. Jodhpur weather is pretty tough sometimes, especially when the wind picks up a lot of sand off the road. Our address is 342012 for anyone who needs to send in documents. The building isn't anything out of a glossy magazine, just solid walls and desks that have seen a lot of use over the years. We see the same faces every morning when the yellow buses pull in from the surrounding villages. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just have to open all the windows and keep going as best as we can. It is a very practical place. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations on the walls. We mostly focus on getting through the textbooks and making sure the kids show up on time. The staff stays busy with the attendance registers and the mid-day meals. It’s a lot of work running a school on a highway, but we just keep at it.
