Bhavishya Public School

Down in Salawas, things are a bit quieter than in the main part of Jodhpur, and that is where Bhavishya Public School is located. We have been part of this area for a good bit of time. The school building sits on a decent piece of land, and we try to make the most of the space we have. You will find kids from all over the nearby patches coming here every morning. It is funny how you get used to the noise of a school; after a while, the shouting and the bells just blend into the background. We do not have any of those high-tech gadgets you see in city schools, but we have enough desks and blackboards to get the lessons done. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but that is always on the to-do list for next year. Our staff mostly comes from Jodhpur or the surrounding villages, so it is a tight-knit group. When it rains, the ground gets a bit muddy, but the kids do not seem to mind much. We spend a lot of time just managing the day-to-day stuff, like making sure everyone has their books and the water coolers are full. It is a basic, honest place to learn. We do not put on any big shows; we just open the gates in the morning and close them once the last bus leaves in the afternoon. It is just a regular school life here in Salawas.
