Studio Barkhat

We started Studio Barkhat here in Jalandhar because we like making clothes. It isn't a massive factory, just a small space where we work on different outfits. Most of the time it’s pretty hectic with fabrics all over the place. We do suits and dresses, mostly traditional stuff. People come in with their own ideas sometimes and we try to make it work. It's just a few of us here. We don't spend much money on ads or anything like that. Most people find out about us from their neighbors or friends. Jalandhar is a good place for this kind of work because everyone appreciates a good outfit for a wedding or a party. Some days are slow and we just sit and organize the threads, other days we are working very late. We try to keep prices fair so people come back when they need something else. It’s not some high-end luxury brand you see in magazines. It’s just us doing what we know. We pick out the materials ourselves from the markets. You can usually find us at the shop from morning until late evening. Sometimes we drink a lot of tea while we work. It keeps us going through the busy seasons. We just want to make clothes that look good and fit right. Nothing more to it than that. It’s a simple business. We focus on the stitching and hope people like what they get.
