I run this little operation from my house, H.No.264, which is right near the Church AF Station in VPO Chommon Adampur. Being in the Jalandhar district, it is a bit of a drive from the main city, but it is quiet here. The workspace is just a room I converted so I can have all my drafting boards and computer set up in one spot. Since it’s near the Air Force station, you can often hear the planes, which becomes just background noise after a while. I don't have a big sign out front or a secretary. Usually, people just knock on the door or call me on my personal phone. It is a very local way of doing things, but it works for the people in the village and the surrounding areas. My desk is always a mess of pencils, scales, and half-empty tea cups. I spend a lot of time looking at site dimensions and trying to make everything fit on the paper. Sometimes neighbors stop by to chat about their own construction projects over a glass of water. It is a simple life and a simple way to work. I don't need a big office in the city when I have everything I need right here in Adampur. It's just me doing my best to get the drawings finished on time. I like the independence of working from home and being able to walk over to the church area for a quick break.
