Food & Fruits Restaurant

Our spot is right on Hawa Sarak in Civil Line 4, which is a pretty busy area most days of the week. My day usually starts with the sound of the delivery trucks dropping off crates of fruit. It is a lot of heavy lifting before the sun even gets too high. We spend hours just peeling and slicing things. The restaurant part of the place gets going a bit later when the office people start looking for lunch. It’s nothing fancy, just some tables and chairs where people can sit for a bit. The floor gets dirty fast with people coming in from the dusty street, so we are always mopping. Sometimes the fans make too much noise, but you need them in this heat. We go through a lot of napkins and water. It is just me and a couple of others trying to keep up with the orders. Sometimes we run out of a certain fruit and have to tell people we don’t have it, which is annoying but happens. The evening is quieter, mostly just people grabbing something small on their way home. We spend a lot of time checking the stock and making sure the fridge is actually staying cold. It's a simple life, mostly just chopping and serving and cleaning up afterwards. We’ve been here at this address for a while and the neighbors know us by now.
