B. L. Caterers

You can find B. L. Caterers over at 788 in the Sindhi Colony area of Jawahar Nagar. We’ve been based in this neighborhood for a long time, and it feels like home to us. Our work involves a lot of cooking and preparation, which usually starts very early in the morning before the sun is even up. The kitchen gets quite hot and loud when everything is moving at once, but that’s just how it is in this line of work. We handle a variety of events, mostly local ones where people need a lot of food prepared and delivered on time. It's a lot of physical labor, lifting heavy pots and making sure the supplies are fresh. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that; word usually just gets around by people talking to their neighbors. Some days the schedule is packed and we’re rushing to get everything loaded into the vans, while other days are spent cleaning and getting ready for the next big job. Being in Sindhi Colony means we're close to a lot of our regulars. It’s a practical setup we have here. We focus on the food and making sure it gets where it needs to go. We've had the same staff for a while, and we all know our roles. It isn't a glamorous job, but it's what we do and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of it over the years.
