Roorkee College Of Engineering

Roorkee College Of Engineering is situated out at Puhana, which is about 8Km from Dehradun on the way to Roorkee. Being out here means we have a lot of space, even if it is a bit of a drive from the main part of town. The campus has plenty of trees and pathways that have seen a lot of students come and go over the years. You can see the main buildings from the road when you get close to 247667. It isn't like one of those shiny new glass offices you see in the big cities; it’s a functional place with heavy wooden desks and libraries that have that old paper smell. Students are always walking around with their bags, talking about their next class or where they are going to get lunch. Sometimes the power goes out, which is pretty common around here, so we just wait for the backup to start up and continue with our work. The staff has their favorite spots under the trees to sit when it gets too hot in the afternoon. We spend our days managing the classrooms and making sure the grounds are kept up as best as we can. It is a place where people actually come to study and learn, and we just try to keep the environment ready for them every single morning without making a big fuss about it.
