In the Satgaon area of Guwahati, you can find Thakur Hair Cutting Saloons. We are on Saigaon Road. It is a bit of a walk from the main crossing but most people know where we are. Guwahati is a growing city, but this neighborhood still feels like a community. We have a couple of guys working the chairs. It is just hair cutting. We don't do all those extra things like facials or hair coloring that cost a lot. Just a simple cut with the scissors. The shop is small and the walls have a few old posters. We like to keep it that way. It feels like home. Many of our customers have been coming to us since they were kids. Now they bring their own children. It makes us feel old but happy. The rain in Assam can be heavy, so the shop is a good place to stay dry for a bit while getting a trim. We don't have a computer or anything. We just keep track of things in a small notebook. It works for us. Satgaon is a busy place, and we are just one small part of it. We open up every morning and sweep the front. It’s a good life. We just want to do our work and go home to our families at the end of the day. The scissors stay sharp and the talk stays friendly. That is all we need.
