Choudhury Hair Cutting Saloon

If you walk down Sijubari Road towards Hatigaon Chariali, you will see our shop right there near the main junction. It’s a busy corner in Guwahati where the traffic never really seems to stop. Choudhury Hair Cutting Saloon is a name that most of the locals around here know well. We have been in this spot for years, watching the buildings grow taller around us. The shop is quite basic with its wooden cabinets and some old glass jars for combs and scissors. There is a ceiling fan that wobbles a little when it’s on the high setting, but it helps keep the Guwahati heat away. Most of our regulars come from the nearby houses in Hatigaon Chariali. They like that they can just walk in and we know exactly how they like their hair cut without them having to say much. We use a lot of water and spray bottles, and there’s always a pile of fresh towels stacked in the corner. Sometimes the tea seller from across the street brings over a few cups, and we take a short break if the chairs are empty. It’s a hard-working atmosphere but nobody is in a rush. We don't do any of that modern styling, just clean cuts for people who want to look decent for work or a wedding. The mirrors are a bit cloudy at the edges, but they still show you what you need to see before you leave.
