Diamond Hair Cutting Saloon

Diamond Hair Cutting Saloon is a small place located in Tokobari, right on A T Road in Guwahati. It’s a busy spot with trucks and buses passing by all day long. The shop has been here for years, and the interior shows its age a bit, but that’s just how we like it. We have the old-fashioned heavy barber chairs that are really sturdy. Most of our customers are men from the neighborhood or travelers who are just passing through the city. We do basic haircuts and shaves, nothing too fancy or modern. My father used to work here too, so there’s a lot of history in these walls. The floor is tiled and we spend half our day sweeping up hair. We keep the razors sharp and the water warm. It gets quite loud with the traffic outside, so we usually have a radio playing some old songs to drown out the noise. There’s a small bench for people to sit on while they wait their turn. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when business is slow just to watch the people go by. It’s a simple life running a shop like this.
