Arjun Hair Dresser Saloon

Our little shop sits right on G M C Road in Rupnagar. If you’re walking toward the Shiv Mandir, you can’t really miss us. It’s a busy enough street in Guwahati, and we see a lot of the same faces every week. I started Arjun Hair Dresser Saloon because I knew the area needed a place where you can just sit down and get your hair trimmed without any fuss. The shop isn't anything like those big malls. We have three chairs and some big mirrors that have seen better days, but they work fine. Most mornings start with sweeping up the hair from the night before and getting the towels ready. It gets a bit humid here in the afternoons, so the ceiling fan stays on high most of the time. You can hear the traffic outside and the bells from the temple nearby when things get quiet. People usually drop in on their way home from work. We don't have a fancy waiting area, just a wooden bench where guys sit and look at their phones or read the paper. It’s a simple routine we’ve got going. Sometimes we talk about the local football matches or just the weather. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in town, just a steady spot for the folks living around Rupnagar. It’s been here for a while now and the neighborhood feels like home to us.
