Bappi Salon

Bappi Salon has been part of the Odal Bhakra neighborhood for quite some time now. We are located right in the Lalganesh area of Guwahati, which stays pretty humid most of the year. The shop is a bit small, tucked away near the main street, but people usually find us easily enough. Bappi usually handles most of the work himself, from opening the shutters in the morning to locking up at night. There is a specific smell of talcum powder and aftershave that hits you when you walk in. We have three chairs, though usually only two are being used at once. The floor tiles are a little worn down from all the walking back and forth, but we keep them as clean as we can. Lalganesh is a busy place, so there’s always noise coming in from the street outside. Customers come from all over the 781001 area, mostly guys who have been coming here since they were young. We don't really change much around here; the way we cut hair is the same as it was years ago. Sometimes we have a small television on the wall showing the news or a cricket match if one is playing. It’s just a place to get your hair shortened and maybe talk about what's happening in the city. We don’t use any expensive products, just the stuff you find in any local market in Assam. It’s a simple life running a salon here.
