Barman Salon

If you are walking down G.S. Road in Rukminigaon, you will find Barman Salon. We are quite close to the Pantaloons building, which makes it easy for people to find us. Guwahati gets quite humid, so we try to keep the shop as cool as possible for whoever walks in. It’s a straightforward hair salon. We have the usual black chairs and big mirrors that show every detail. Most of our customers are locals from Khanapara or people working in the nearby shops who pop in for a quick trim during their lunch break. The traffic outside on the main road is always loud, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of clippers and some background music. We don’t have a lot of staff, just a few of us who have been doing this for years. We know how to handle different hair types and styles without making a big deal out of it. Sometimes the rain in Assam is so heavy that people just run inside our shop to stay dry for a bit. We don't mind. We just keep working. The shop stays open until late because that’s when most people are free. We keep our towels clean and our spray bottles full. It’s a small business and we put in the hours every day. There isn’t much more to say than that, we are just here to do hair.
