Bharat Mithu Hair Cutting Saloon

Bharat Mithu Hair Cutting Saloon is over in the Jatia area on Kahilipara Road. Even though the address says Bharalumukh, we are really more in the Jatia part of Guwahati. The shop is a modest place, just one of those local spots where people stop by on their way home. We have a couple of chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. The light comes in through the front door and reflects off the mirrors, which we try to keep clear of smudges. There isn't much room for a big waiting area, so people mostly just lean against the wall or sit on the one bench we have. We keep our scissors and razors on a small tray next to each chair. The sound of the traffic on Kahilipara Road is always there in the background. We don't use any fancy products, just the usual things you find in a neighborhood saloon. It gets busy in the evenings when people are finished with their work. We just keep going until the last person is done. There is no big mystery to how we run things. We show up, we cut hair, and we go home. The shop has its own rhythm, and we’ve gotten used to it. It’s a practical place for the people around here. We just try to do an honest job every day and keep the place running.
