Raja Hair Dresser Saloon

You can find us in the Kahilipara Colony area, specifically on Lokhra Road in the Kalapahar section of Guwahati. This saloon has been a part of the local community for a long time. It is a small shop with just a few chairs and some big mirrors that have seen a lot of faces over the years. Most of our customers are the men and boys who live in the colony nearby. We know most of them by their names and we know how they like their hair to be cut. The shop isn't fancy at all; it has simple walls and a floor that we sweep every time someone leaves. Because we are on Lokhra Road, there is always some noise from the traffic, but we are used to it by now. We don't have air conditioning, so we rely on the ceiling fans to keep the place cool during the humid Guwahati summers. There isn't much room for a waiting area, so people often just stand outside and talk while they wait for their turn. We talk about local things like the rain or the price of vegetables while we work. It’s a very casual atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable. We don't use any high-end products, just the standard stuff that works well. We take pride in just doing a solid job and going home to our families at night. It’s just the way things go for us.
