Out here on Basistha Road Survey in Beltola, things stay pretty busy throughout the day. Rahul Hair Cutting Salon is just a local spot where we’ve been doing business for some time. We’re tucked into the neighborhood, and most people who live around Guwahati know how the traffic can be on this road. The shop is pretty basic. We have a few chairs and the standard tools you’d find anywhere. I think people like coming here because it’s familiar. We don't have any bright lights or loud music playing. Mostly, you just hear the sound of people talking about their day or what’s happening in the news. It’s a practical place. We focus on the hair and the shaves. The morning sun hits the front of the shop quite hard, so we usually keep the door half-closed until it cools down a bit. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because that's not what the regulars are looking for. They just want a decent trim so they can get on with their work. On Sundays, the bench is usually full and we have to work a bit faster to make sure everyone gets through. It’s a good kind of busy though. We know most of the families around here by now. It’s just a normal hair shop in a normal part of town, and we’re happy to keep it that way for as long as we can.
