Kamal Hair Beauty Saloon

People know us here in Bharalumukh, right on K R B Road. It is just a small place where we do hair and basic beauty stuff for the folks around Guwahati. We open up early, usually when the street is starting to get noisy. The mirrors are old and have a few spots, but you can see yourself well enough. We have those heavy chairs that have been here for years. Sometimes the fan makes a clicking sound when it is on high speed, but it keeps the air moving. You can see the traffic passing by outside through the front door. We keep the combs in a jar and try to sweep the floor after every person, though some hair always hides in the corners. It is just a regular shop. Nothing fancy or anything like that. We spend most of the day standing on our feet. If there is no customer, we sit on the bench outside or just look at our phones. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but they have stayed this blue color for a long time. People from the neighborhood stop in for a quick trim or a shave while they are out doing their errands. We know most of the faces that come through the door by now. It is just how it is here in this part of town. We stay open until it gets dark and the shops nearby start closing their shutters for the night.
