We’ve been running this small shop in Ambari Fatashil for quite a while now. It sits right on A K Deb Road, so there is always some noise from the traffic passing by outside. Most of our customers are people who live just a few blocks away or stop by on their way home from work in Guwahati. It’s not one of those big, shiny places you see in the mall. We just have the basic chairs, some old mirrors, and the usual tools we’ve used for years. Every morning we open up, sweep the floor, and wait for the first person to walk in. Usually, it’s one of the regulars who wants to beat the heat or avoid the afternoon rush. We talk about the local news, how the roads are getting busier, or just how the kids are doing. It’s a simple routine that repeats every day except for when we take a break. Sometimes the fan makes a bit of a rattling noise, but nobody seems to mind it much. We try to keep things relaxed here. You won't find any fancy brochures or expensive products sitting on the shelves. It is just a place to sit down for twenty minutes and get your hair trimmed without any fuss. The evening time gets pretty crowded, especially on Saturdays, so there might be a bit of a wait. We just ask people to grab a stool and wait their turn.
