Glisten Unisex Spa Salon

Our place is over in Noonmati, on the MRD Road. It is called Glisten, which sounds a bit fancy, but we are just regular people working here. It is a unisex salon, so we see everyone. Some days it is mostly men wanting a quick trim, and other days we have ladies coming in for longer stuff. The shop is on a busy stretch of road, so there is always noise from the trucks and cars. We have a few more things than a regular barber shop, like some creams and shampoos on the shelves. The floor is tiled and we try to keep it shining, though the rain in Guwahati makes that hard. We have a small area where people can sit and wait. There is an old magazine rack that nobody really looks at because everyone is on their phones now. We have some air conditioning, which is a blessing in July. The staff stays busy mostly in the late afternoon when people are finishing their work. We don't do any big advertising. People just see the sign when they are walking to the bus stop. It's nice to see the same faces every month. Noonmati is a good area, even if the traffic is a mess sometimes. We just focus on what we are doing and try to stay cool inside.
