Awadesh Gents Beauty Hair Style has been sitting here in Ulubari for quite a while. Our little shop is right on G S Road in the Banghagarh area of Guwahati, so it stays pretty busy with people moving around all day. It’s not one of those fancy places you see in magazines; it’s just a regular barber shop for men who need a haircut or a shave. We have a few old chairs and some mirrors that have seen better days, but they do the job just fine. Most of the guys who come in live right here in Guwahati and have been regulars for years. Sometimes it gets crowded, especially on Sunday mornings when everyone has some free time, and you might have to wait on the wooden bench for a bit. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us working here every day. The noise from the traffic on G S Road is always there in the background, but we’ve gotten used to it over time. We don’t really do anything complicated like the big salons do. If you want a basic trim or to get your beard lined up, that’s what we do. The lighting isn't the best and the fan makes a bit of a rattling noise, but it keeps the air moving when it gets humid. We just try to do an honest day's work and keep things simple for everyone who stops by. It’s just how we run things.
