Bhagini Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited is run by the women here in Pindkepar. We operate out of House No 133, where Rameshwar Charandas Nagdeve lives. Deori is a quiet part of Gondia, and mostly everyone here is connected to the land. We started this group because we wanted the women in our village to have more say in how our produce is sold and managed. It’s a busy place, especially during the harvest when everyone is bringing in their bags. We handle a lot of the sorting and the paperwork ourselves right there in the village. It can be a bit loud and crowded when we all get together to discuss the prices, but it's good to see everyone involved. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy office; we just use what we have at the house. We focus on what grows well in Gondia and try to make sure we aren't getting shortchanged by middle-men. It’s hard to balance the farm work with taking care of our homes, but we manage. You’ll usually find us talking about the latest weather reports or comparing how the different seeds are doing this year. We are just practical people trying to make a bit of progress for our families. It’s a lot of manual labor and long hours, but we’re doing it together and that makes the hard days much better.
