Down here in Titarkheda, life revolves mostly around the farms. We have our little setup at Dattatreya Salunke’s house, House Number 25 to be exact. It’s a quiet spot in Valijapur. We called ourselves Titarkheda Agritech Farmer Producer Company Limited because we wanted to bring a bit more technology to our daily farm work. Aurangabad can be a tough place to farm when the rains aren't steady. Most of us grew up in these fields. We aren't suits or city people. We are just folks who spend the day in the dirt and the evenings trying to figure out the accounts. Dattatreya’s place is where we keep our records and meet up to talk about the seeds or the new machines someone heard about. It’s not always easy keeping everyone on the same page. Farming has changed a lot since our fathers were doing it. We try to keep up with the new ways of doing things without forgetting the basics that actually work in this soil. Being in Maharashtra, the weather is always a topic of conversation. Sometimes we just sit and drink tea while looking over the lists of what needs to be bought for the next season. We don't have a big marketing team. It’s just us trying to make sure the farmers in Titarkheda get a fair deal for their hard work. It's a bit messy sometimes, the paperwork and all, but we get through it together as a group. No bells or whistles.
