Out here in Nawegaonbandh, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. We are set up at Dewaji Maharu Kapgate’s place, which is in the Arjuni Mor part of Gondia. If you know the Nawegaon area, it is not hard to find us. We spend our mornings checking on what is coming in from the farmers. Avdut Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited is basically just a group of us trying to get things organized. It gets very busy during the harvest months. There is always someone coming by with a tractor or a small cart. The office is simple. We have some chairs and a desk where Dewaji sits sometimes to go over the tallies. The air in Nawegaon is usually good, but when the dust kicks up from the dirt roads, it gets on everything. We do not have a marketing team or anyone like that. Just a few of us from the village and the surrounding spots. It is a lot of manual work and keeping track of who brought what in. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for the loads to arrive. Sometimes we stay late if the trucks are delayed on the road. Gondia weather can be unpredictable, so we are always looking at the clouds. We have been doing this for a while now and it is just how life goes here. People stop by to chat even if they do not have business.
