Grille Restaurant

Our place, Grille Restaurant, is way up on the 4th floor of Axiom Mall. It’s at 152 Rajpur Road in Dehradun. Being in a mall is a bit different than being on the street. You have to deal with the elevators and the mall security and all that. But Jakhan is a good area to be in. We see a lot of shoppers who are tired and just want to sit down for a bit. Rajpur Road is always packed with cars and people, especially on the weekends. From up here on the 4th floor, you can kind of look out and see things moving, but it’s quieter than being right on the pavement. We started this because we wanted to have a spot in this part of town. It’s not a huge place, but we make it work with what we have. The kitchen isn't massive, so we have to be organized or things get messy fast. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad unless the traffic on Rajpur Road is really backed up, which happens more often than not. We just keep the tables clean and wait for people to come in after they finish their shopping downstairs. It’s a steady rhythm. Some days are slow and we just sit around talking, and other days we can barely keep up with the orders coming in. We just focus on getting the food right and making sure the staff stays on top of things during the rush.
