Doon view point

Our little place is shop number one on the road that leads up to Mussoorie. It is a very specific spot near Kolhapur Kher. We call it Doon view point. Being on this road means we see a lot of people. There are travelers coming up from the plains and locals going about their business. The air up here is a lot better than it is down in the city. You can feel the breeze most of the time. It is a small shop, nothing fancy or polished about it at all. We spend a lot of our day just looking out at the traffic. Some days the clouds come down so low that you can’t even see the other side of the road. It’s a bit quiet in the winter when the tourists stay away, but we keep the place open anyway. We’ve been here for a good while and have seen the road get wider and busier over the years. We just handle things one day at a time. It isn’t a complicated way to live. We sit here, we talk to whoever stops by, and we look out at the hills. There are no big signs or marketing stuff here. Just a plain shop on a mountain road. Sometimes we have tea while watching the sun go down. It is a simple life and we are used to the rhythm of the mountain traffic now.
