Ravimuruga'S Flyash Bricks

Our shop is over at Shop No. 8/1 in Peelamedu. Being so close to PSG College, we see a lot of students walking by every day, though they aren't usually looking for flyash bricks. The yard is where we spend most of our time. Flyash is a bit different to work with than the old clay bricks, and it took us some time to get the hang of how they stack best without breaking anything. We usually start very early before the sun gets too hot to handle. There’s always a layer of grey dust on everything, including our tea cups if we aren't careful about where we put them down. We don't really do much advertising. Most people find us because they saw the stacks from the road or someone told them we were here. Some days are slow, just waiting for a delivery truck to show up, and other days it feels like everyone wants their order at the exact same time. It can get pretty loud with the machinery and the trucks backing in. We just focus on getting the bricks out. We’ve got a small crew, and we’ve all been working together long enough that we don’t need to say much to get the job done. It’s a simple setup, nothing polished or corporate. Just a lot of heavy lifting and making sure the counts are right before the trucks leave the gate for the day. We usually close up when the last order is gone.
