K V S Bricks

K V S Bricks is located at 64, Main Road in Chinnathadagam. This place has been our home for quite some time. The main road stays busy with tractors and buses, but inside the yard, it is all about the work. We have rows and rows of bricks drying in the sun. It takes a lot of patience to get the timing right. If you rush it, they just crack. We have a small group of workers who live nearby and have been with us through many seasons. We know the soil around here really well. It has a certain grit to it that makes for a sturdy brick once it is fired. My father started this and now I handle the day-to-day stuff. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. Usually, someone is sitting by the gate to let the trucks in. We drink a lot of tea to stay going during the long shifts. The heat from the kilns is something you never really get used to, but you learn to live with it. Sometimes we have issues with the wood supply for the fires, but we always find a way to keep things burning. It is just a local business trying to keep up with the demand from the builders nearby. We don't make a big fuss about things, we just do our jobs.
