Kottaimariamman Bricks

Kottaimariamman Bricks is located out in Village Samarayapatti, which is part of the Udamalpet Tehsil. You can find us near Colony Road. It is a quiet, rural area, which is good for making bricks because we have the space we need. The air out here is a bit clearer than in the city, but the yard is still a dusty place once we get started. We have a lot of local guys working with us, people from the village who know the land. Making bricks here is a tradition that has been around a long time. We don't use any corporate lingo or try to sound bigger than we are. We are just a local industry making a product that people need for their homes and barns. The days are long, especially when we are firing the kiln, because someone has to watch it all through the night. It is a lot of sweat and hard work, but there is a sense of satisfaction when a batch comes out just right. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing department. If you need us, you just come down to Samarayapatti and look for the kilns near the road. We are usually around, either loading a truck or checking the raw bricks as they dry in the sun. It is a basic, honest way to live, and we are fine with that. It keeps us connected to the ground and the community.
