Omm Sakthi Hollow Block

We run Omm Sakthi Hollow Block over at S. F. 797/2 in the Sri Murugan Lay Out, which is on the Udumalai Main Road in Pollachi. It’s a noisy spot because our machines are running for most of the daylight hours. Making hollow blocks is a messy job with all the sand and cement flying around. We aren't a big factory with lots of automation. It’s mostly us doing the work by hand and with the basic machinery we have. The yard is usually full of stacks of blocks drying in the sun. If the weather is too wet, it slows everything down, which can be frustrating. Pollachi is a good place to be, but the heat on the Udumalai Main Road can be intense during the middle of the day. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything. People just pull their trucks up to the yard and we load the blocks for them. We don’t do much advertising. People usually see our sign on the road or hear about us from their neighbors who are building houses. We have a small room where we keep our tools and a few chairs for when we take a break. It’s a very straightforward business. We make the blocks, we sell them, and we start again the next day. We don't try to make it sound like more than it is. It’s just honest, local work that keeps us busy from morning till night.
