Al-Ameen Steel Traders

We are down at No: 4 in Mannurpet. It’s right in the middle of the Ambattur Industrial Estate area. Most days start early here because the trucks come in around seven. It’s loud usually. You hear the steel clanging against the ground and the cranes moving stuff. Al-Ameen Steel Traders has been in this spot for a good while now. The office is just a basic room with a desk and some chairs where we handle the paperwork. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty with all the work going on outside. People come by asking for different sizes of metal. We just tell them what we have in the yard. If the weather is hot, the metal gets hard to touch. We mostly just keep to ourselves and get the orders ready for whoever is waiting. The neighborhood is full of other shops too. You can smell the grease and the smoke from the nearby factories. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s where we work. We don't have a big sign or anything fancy, just the name on the gate. It's a simple life running a steel business. We spend most of the day talking to drivers and making sure the counts are right. It’s nothing like the big offices in the city. We just deal with the metal and the people who need it for their projects. It's hard work but we are used to the noise and the routine of the industrial estate.
