Arihant Metal (India) is situated at 39/10, Ekambareshwarar Agraharam in Park Town. It’s a part of the city that is always moving and never stays quiet. The streets are very narrow and there are people and carts everywhere. Our shop is just like the others around here—practical and full of heavy stock. We deal in metal, so you’ll see stacks of it when you walk in the door. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to keep a lot of variety on hand for anyone who stops by. We spend most of our time talking to people who come in looking for specific sizes or types of metal for their own projects. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. We don't do much online; we prefer it when people just come by the shop to talk. The Agraharam area has a lot of history, and we feel like a part of the neighborhood after all these years. Sometimes the heat in Park Town is unbearable, but the shop stays relatively cool with the thick walls and the shade. We aren't interested in being a big corporation. We just want to run our metal business and go home at the end of the day. There’s no fancy branding here. It’s just a sign above the door and us inside working. We know our customers by name, and that is how we like to keep things running.
