Located at the Sidco Industrial Estate in Ambattur, our place has been around long enough that the address changed from 50 to 76. We are one of those spots where the work never really stops. Inside the shed, it’s all about the steel. We deal with bright steel, and if you have ever been to Ambattur, you know how the industrial heat mixes with the actual weather. It is a tough environment but we’ve got a rhythm down. The machines have their own peculiar sounds, and you get to know them after a few years. One might clatter a bit more than the others, but it still gets the job done. Our team is a mix of older guys who have been here since the start and some younger ones learning the ropes. We don't spend money on fancy signs or shiny lobbies. Most of our budget goes into keeping the equipment in decent shape. The floors are stained with oil and there’s always a bit of metal dust in the air. We eat our lunch together in the small break area, usually talking about the local news or how the trains are running. It is a straightforward life here at Alan Bright Steel. We show up, we do the work, and we head home once the shift is done and the machines are finally quiet.
