A. R. Steels

We are located at No: 166A on Arcot Road. Valasaravakkam is a very busy part of the city, and the main road is almost never empty. A. R. Steels is right there on the main stretch. It’s easy to find our spot if you are driving along the road. The shop is small and we keep most of the steel stock in the back area. It gets very hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the building directly. We have a couple of benches for people to sit on while they wait for their orders. The traffic noise is constant. You get used to the sound of the buses and the horns after a while. We’ve been operating from this same spot for a good number of years now. It’s mostly local people and builders who come to us. We don't have any big marketing plans or any polished advertisements. We just open the shutters in the morning and see who comes by to buy things. Dealing with steel is heavy and tiring work, so we stay pretty worn out by the end of the day. We just try to be honest with everyone about what we have in stock. The office part is just a small corner with a ledger book and a simple pen. It’s a basic setup for a simple business. We like being in Valasaravakkam because there’s always something happening on the street outside.
