A. M. Steel Traders

You can find us on Sembudoss Street in the Parrys area. Our address is a bit confusing for some because it is Old No: 21 but the New No is 10. People usually just look for the small sign for A. M. Steel Traders. Parrys is such a packed and busy area. There are so many shops and narrow lanes that look the same. Our place is tucked in among many other steel shops. Inside, it’s mostly just stacks of metal and a small place for us to sit. It’s dark inside sometimes because the buildings are so close together. We have been working here for many years. The street is always loud with the sounds of handcarts and heavy trucks. We spend the day talking to customers who walk in from the lane. Many of them are from the same neighborhood or work nearby. We do a lot of counting and weighing on the old scale. The walls are a bit stained and the floor is rough, but it works fine for what we do. We don't need a fancy showroom or decorations. Steel is heavy and messy, so there’s no point in trying to keep the place too clean. We just make sure we have what the local people are looking for. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. There are no big meetings, just regular talk. We start early and close when the street starts to get quiet in the evening.
