Lafarge India Private Limited

We are located right at the Arasmeta Cement Plant, near the mines in Gopal Nagar. It’s a bit of a journey to get out here in the Janjgir Champa district of Chhattisgarh. Life at the plant is very different from an office in the city. There’s a lot of dust, and the sun can be quite brutal in this part of the state. We work for Lafarge India Private Limited directly on-site. Our office is a functional building tucked away near the main operations. We spend our days dealing with the realities of mining and production. It’s loud, it’s busy, and there’s always something that needs fixing or checking. We don’t have any fancy decor; our desks are usually covered in a thin layer of fine dust by the end of the day, no matter how much we clean. We wear our boots and helmets more often than we wear formal shoes. Most of us live nearby or in the plant housing, so work and life blend together. We eat our meals in the canteen and talk about the day’s output. It’s a hardworking environment where people are more concerned with results than how things look on paper. It’s honest, gritty work. We handle the paperwork, the site reports, and the staff coordination right here where the actual work happens. It’s a tough place sometimes, but we just get on with the daily grind.
