This branch is located in Gopalnagar, which is in the Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh. We are based out of Quarter Number C-9. It’s a quiet area, mostly built for the people working around here. The post office is right there in Gopalnagar, so mail reaches us okay. Being in a quarter means the office is more like a house that’s been put to work. It has a kitchen area where we make tea and a couple of rooms where we have the desks set up. It’s not what you’d call a modern office. The floors are simple and we don’t have any of that glass-and-steel architecture. Janjgir-Champa is a bit away from the main hub of Raipur, so things move a little slower here. We focus on the local operations and keeping the records straight. There’s a lot of greenery around the colony, which is a nice change from the dust of the plant floors. We know everyone who lives in the surrounding quarters. It’s the kind of place where you leave your door open during the day. We don’t have a big sign out front, just the number C-9. It’s practical and it works for us. We spend our days handling the local logistics and making sure the paperwork for the district is handled properly. It’s a steady, quiet kind of work life here. Most of us have lived in this colony for years now.
