Lafarge Cement

This Lafarge Cement office is actually located at the Arasmeta Cement Plant in Gopalnagar, near Bilaspur. We are in the D46 section of the plant area. Being at the plant means it is very different from a city office. There is a lot of noise from the machinery and trucks are constantly moving around the grounds. The air always has a bit of dust in it because of the cement, but we are all used to that by now. Our office is a simple building inside the colony where the staff stays. It is practical and built for work, not for looking pretty. We spend our days tracking the production and talking to the loaders who take the cement out. The Chhattisgarh heat can be quite tough in the summer months, so we stay inside as much as possible during the afternoons. There is a canteen nearby where we go for lunch, and usually, we talk about the plant operations while we eat. It is a very industrial atmosphere, and everyone here is focused on the actual making of the cement. We don't have many visitors from outside unless they are transporters or contractors. It is a bit far from Bilaspur town, so we mostly stay within the plant gates during our shifts. It is a hard-working place where things never really stop moving, even at night. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done.
