The Grand Restaurant

We are located right near the Municipal Water Tank on Anand Sojitra Road. If you know the Borsad Chokdi area, we are pretty easy to spot since we’re right opposite Uma Bhavan. The Grand Restaurant has been a part of this street for quite some time. In the mornings, the traffic near the water tank starts picking up and we get the kitchen ready. It’s not a huge operation, just a bunch of us working to get tables set and floors swept. The area gets quite a bit of foot traffic because of the chokdi nearby. We see a lot of local faces, people we’ve known for years. Sometimes the power goes out in the neighborhood, but we just deal with it like everyone else does. Our tables are simple, nothing too crazy or expensive. The kitchen stays hot, especially in the afternoons. We spend a lot of time just making sure everything is where it should be. It’s a standard routine really. We open the doors, wait for people to come in, and then clear the plates when they leave. The staff mostly lives nearby, so we all walk or take bikes to get here. It’s just a regular local spot where people eat. We don't put on any airs. It's just us and the food we cook every day. The street outside is always noisy with horns and bikes, but that's just Anand for you and we are used to it.
