Gwalia Sweets & Restaurants

Our shop is tucked into the Suketu Complex, over in the Motikaka Ni Chawl area of Anand. We take up units 16 through 22, so we have a bit of room for both the sweets and the sitting area. Being near the Triveni Complex means there are usually people walking by, which is nice. We start early in the morning because the sweets take time to get right. The smell of sugar and ghee usually fills the place before the sun is even fully up. It’s a lot of manual work, stirring big pots and traying things up. We aren't a big corporate chain; it’s just us here trying to keep the shelves full and the tables clean. Sometimes the display cases get fingerprints on them from kids looking at the candy, so we’re always wiping those down. The restaurant part gets busy around noon. We don’t have any fancy decorations or anything like that. It’s just simple tables and chairs where you can sit and eat without much fuss. We’ve had some of the same customers for years now. They know where we are and what we do. We try to keep things consistent, even when it’s hectic. Anand is a good place to be, and we’re glad to have our spot in this complex. It’s just a normal business, doing what we know how to do, day after day.
